Gambeson

This gambeson was made with extra leather reinforcement over the shoulders to spread the weight of a rather heavy mail shirt. It is modelled here by my long-suffering husband, who is slightly smaller than the client.

The fabric of the gambeson is quilted from an inner cotton lining, one layer of cotton wadding, and an outer layer of thick cotton drill. On the lining of this particular gambeson was embroidered the group logo of the first character who wore it, as a personal touch 🙂

The sleeves are lace-on and detachable.
